Students who may not qualify for certain programs but still need support may be eligible for the JHS SURGE Program. SURGE stands for “Striving Upward for Goals in/and Education” and is an alternative learning program that allows students to remain in a traditional high school setting while benefiting from smaller class sizes with fewer distractions. The program enrolls 12–15 students at a time and focuses on improving attendance, building self-esteem, and fostering relationships.
Every student has the right to a free and appropriate education. We believe our students will grow more motivated by their successes and begin to take ownership of their education and future.
