Three individuals to be inducted into the Jordan Public Schools Hall of Fame on September 19th, 2025. 

Jordan Public Schools (JPS) will host a Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 5:00pm in the Jordan High School (JHS) auditorium. Being honored in this ceremony will be three individuals with lifetime accomplishments in athletics and contributions to Jordan Public Schools. 

Individual participants will include: 

  • John McFarland, for Athletics, JHS Class of 1984

Three-sport athlete at JHS in football, basketball and baseball, and a three-time letterman in all three sports. He was a Football All Conference athlete with nearly 1,200 yards his senior year, and a big contributor to the 1983 state championship football team. He was a three year starter in basketball, and All Conference his senior year. He was a two time All Conference Pitcher and Outfielder in baseball. 

  • Leah (Dietel) Aamlid, for Athletics, JHS Class of 2009

Three-sport athlete at JHS in volleyball, basketball and track and field. A five-year Varsity starter and letter winner in both volleyball and basketball. She was a six year letter winner in track and field. In basketball, she had 2,478 career points, 1,363 career rebounds, and was a three time state tournament participant with her team finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. In volleyball, she had 1,742 career kills with three state tournament appearances, finishing twice as state champions. In track and field, she held school records in shot put, discus, high jump, and was a state runner-up in shot put junior year and 8th place in the state meet her senior year. In addition to her contributions on athletic teams, Aamlid was also JHS Valedictorian, National Honor Society President, JHS Triple A Nominee, and JHS Co-Female Athlete of the Year. Aamlid went on to play basketball at South Dakota State University, starting in 68 of 111 games. She continues to contribute to the Jordan Public Schools organization as a teacher at Jordan Elementary School. 

  • TJ Oakes, for Athletics, JHS Class of 2009

Two-sport athlete in basketball and baseball, and a four-year Varsity starter and letter winner in both sports. In basketball, he achieved over 1,500 career points. In baseball, he was a Minnesota Lions All-Star Game participant in 2009, and a Class AA State Player of the Year in 2009. Following his high school sports career, Oakes continued to play baseball as a three year starter at the University of Minnesota, and was drafted by the MN Twins after his sophomore year in the 41st round of the 2011 draft. He was then drafted by the Colorado Rockies after his junior year in the 11th round of the 2012 draft. He signed and played two seasons of minor league baseball with the Rockies organization. Following his time with the Rockies, he has continued to coach baseball at various levels, with his current position as Head Baseball Coach at the University of Wisconsin Superior. 

The induction ceremony for the three individual participants will be open to the public. Following the induction ceremony, the Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at halftime of the Homecoming football game at Ames Field.
